Advanced Photoshop issue 85!

This month i was gifted with the chance to display my artwork in the form of a tutorial for my dear friend Adam Smith and the good fellas over at Advanced Photoshop magazine, just a hop skip and a jump away, over in the UK. The spread is a whopping six pages, and i really put my heart into the painting! go out and grab the issue, in stores as of today, and have a great time reading it! Ive been thumbing through my copy and there are lots of other great articles in the mag! so excited!

Selling Portraits

Earlier this summer, my house was broken into, and stolen was my 2500$ Nikon Camera, which i loved dearly. To try and raise some of my hard earned money back to buy another, i will be selling portraits for the next two months to anyone who inquires. Turnaround time is about half a week each, and your price, framed, boxed, and shipped, is 200$.

Size is about 12x12 inches (including frame), framed on black semi glossy frame.
If interested, i would need a straight on face shot, not too small, not too blurry, hopefully with top down lighting (just stander under a nice single light), so that i can get some good shadows and frame up your face nicely.

These were for Dominance war 2011...buuuuut unfortunately, i couldnt continue my work on it, cuz i took on some freelance. still, was fun!

the following scenes were created for the Endings in Mortal Kombat 9, which were painted on layers, and chopped up into the ending cinematics. fun but difficult to do O_O










So, Mortal Kombat 9 has finally come out, and even though i was only there on the last two months of the project, i did get a couple of fun pieces out of it. The game was a complete success, and even though my concepts werent as awesome as some of the veterans we had there working on the game before i got there, heres what i have to show!

looking at the thumbs, i still think maybe ill visit some more of these as finished pieces in the future! Thanks Dave Wilkins for the opportunity.... i just hope this work holds up to all the other awesome pieces in the book, being that its only a pencil drawing!

My El Zombo contribution for Dave Wilkins' upcoming project... i tried to just do a huge piece in pencil... but now that im to this point, i just wana make sure i tone it right and bring it all together? tough. cuz i dunno wtf im doing... but its sure as hell fun!

when drawing a character who smokes a giant cigar, it is necessary to also smoke a giant cigar while doing so.

an old painting that never saw the light

lol. i found this while looking through my old work. it was a nude study, of course. fun fun. enjoy it before i take it down, lol. or maybe i wont take it down. fuck it. I need to stop censoring myself, and just be raw and honest about whats on my mind, or what im painting :P
