i know i know, another nicki minaj piece. but truth be told, shes just SO FUN TO PAINT. what a crazy face, lol. No seriously though, this piece is for a show that im in next month, part of a two piece set, this is the first in the edition. ive never done a caricature before, so any tips are appreciated!

newest addition to my family, my new bianchi Pista concept bike, fixed gear, for maximum appreciation of Chicago. Ive taken it out a couple times, to get used to it, and i dont mind riding in the snow, but i really cant wait for spring and summer....

Old Sony Art Test

Wow, cleaning out my folders and found this old stuff. From an art test that i did to try out for the God of War team in Sony Santamonica. Of course, my career took me in a different direction, here at the mortal kombat studio in Chicago, but i had a very fun time doing this. i came across This Guy, Anthony Jones, also known as RobotPencil, who DID get the job (my direct competitor for the position) and now i realize why i didnt. hes an AMAZING artist, and after looking at his submissions, i understand that i have a LOT to learn :)

Cataclysm, old art test

SO, Cataclysm is out, the new blizzard expansion to their massively popular game, warcraft, and i was remembering that i had done some OLD artwork to try out for their cataclysm team about 2 years ago. Now that the game is out, it features an underwater kingdom, and rideable underwater mounts. Seeing the footage for how the game turned out, and its environments and its mounts is really cool! These were my test images and my take on what i thought that environment might look like. In the end, of course i didnt get hired there, but its still really cool to have done some artwork that was related, even though it wasnt used!

Recharging my "Izm"

been taking a while off of the seriousness to do a little thing i call "recharging my izm."
Sometimes i think its very important to step aside from the art, and just lift your head to look around and remember the things that made you want to do art in the first place. So i activated a Tumblr account (to which the URL will remain anonymous) and loaded it up with a bunch of the things that i feel motivate me, and feed my "ism." Sketching around

Just some quick Nicolai Fechin studies (using a model from my favorite clothing site, who was modelling winter beanies, but trying to stick close to the Fechin style). Also a fun figure drawing, ink, color, and text study. The Cropped image makes a pretty cool (albeit strange) desktop image.... i mean... if anyone were to be into that sort of thing... either way, hope you enjoy!
